07/04/13 Will Tuttle In Croatia!
Animal Friends invites you to a lecture by a renowned speaker on the peaceful diet, i.e. "the world peace diet"
- July 4, 2013: famous American author talks about social and spiritual consequences of wrong eating habits
Many people have embraced Dr Will Tuttle’s book The World Peace Diet - Eating for Spiritual Health and Social Harmony with delight, which was also published in Croatia two years ago. This revolutionary, interesting and enlightening book explores deep social and spiritual consequences of our eating habits and mentality that supports them.
The basic message is that the new paradigm which promotes collaboration, freedom, peace, life and unity will replace the old paradigm which is based on competition, dividing, war, exclusivity and the idea that power gives rights, and food is the basic key for the birth of the new paradigm.
Animal Friends invites you to attend a lecture by Dr Will Tuttle, award winning American author, speaker, educator, pianist and composer, on July 4, 2013 at the Hotel Esplanade in Zagreb, beginning at 6 P.M. After the lecture, he will thank those attending by performing a piece on the piano. At the request of Dr Tuttle, the lecture will be free.
Dr Tuttle obtained his master's degree in humanities from San Francisco State University and his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, specialising in the philosophy of education. As a college lecturer he taught philosophy, mythology, religion, social science and creativity. He was born in 1953 and has been a vegan since he was twenty seven years old. He is a frequent speaker at vegetarian and spiritual gatherings and conferences and animal rights events. He is very much into yoga, meditation and developing his intuition. He has composed and published eight music albums.
He travels and holds many lectures and workshops, whose goals are to promote veganism and world peace. Dr Tuttle showed his commitment to promoting a peaceful diet by giving up the commodity of city life and university career, travelling in a mobile home with his wife, artist Madeleine Tuttle, in order to lecture and spread the message of non-violence. He holds around 150 lectures per year. He is a co-organizer of the free online audio conference Veganpalooza, world vegetarian summit.
About his book, which he wrote five years ago, he says: "I wrote The World Peace Diet because I wanted to research and to give people insight into the deeper structure of our society and how animal abuse is something which we inherit just by being born. Our culture in its core has this invisible mentality which turns life into commodity, a usable product. Animals are seen as commodity, they are reduced to mere property and objects that are used for food, clothes, research, fun. They are not seen as holy beings who share this Earth with us as our mysterious co-residents of the world, but they are reduced to property."
Dr Tuttle adds: "While doing research, I have been a vegan for about thirty years and, as time went by, I researched more and more about the fact that our culture systematically abuses animals. I realized that this primarily happens through food, we are indoctrinated by meals, and we also transfer to our children the violence represented within those meals. We eat violence towards animals. And through this, we begin to see Earth and all the animals as ordinary things that should be used, and with time we also turn ourselves into things that are being used."
It's becoming more and more obvious how our diet choices lead us towards environmental degradation, huge health problems, and unimaginable cruelty towards our closest beings. For all conscious people, regardless of their religion, Dr Tuttle offers a series of universal principles in order to again connect to the food we eat, what is needed for it to appear and what happens after we consume it. The book suggests ways with which we can advance as a human race and develop our own consciousness in order to be freer, more intelligent, full of love and happier.
Animal Friends invites you to an excellent opportunity to meet Dr Tuttle and to listen to his messages about peace, diet and the way towards a better future.
